East Manatee Fire Rescue District provides fire suppression and emergency services to approximately 65,000 residents, 20,000 homes, and 1100 businesses within the fire district. The Florida Legislature formed the East Manatee Fire Rescue District to protect the growing eastern area of Manatee County including a large portion of the Lakewood Ranch area. The boundaries are the Manatee River to the north and Sarasota County to the south, the Braden River to the west and County road 675 to the east.

East Manatee Fire Rescue District is comprised of approximately 100 square miles and included are some of Florida’s fastest-growing geographical areas, consisting of one-half suburban area and the other half agriculture and forest land. East Manatee Fire Rescue District provides five fire stations staffed around the clock with four fire engines, one engine/tanker, and one engine/ladder.

Mission Statement:    Dedicated in providing quality care through education,
prevention and response to the needs of our community.

All the East Manatee Fire Rescue District Firefighters are Emergency Medical Technicians and are equipped to respond to medical emergencies and assist the county paramedic transport ambulance service. Three of our five stations have Manatee County Ambulances housed in them.

Station 1 is currently our Headquarters and offices for Administration, Finance, Fire Prevention, Training, Operations, and Office of the Fire Chief.
